Generously apply to the face, neck, and backs of the hands at least 15 minutes before going outside, and reapply a minimum of every two hours — opting for a water-resistant formula if you'll be swimming or perspiring. Remember that sun exposure raises the risk of skin cancer and premature skin aging, so in addition to regular use of a broad-spectrum SPF 15 or higher, take further protective measures: limit your time outdoors during peak hours (around 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and shield your skin with long sleeves, pants, a hat, and sunglasses. For babies under six months, check with your doctor before use.
